History

INEOS ABS is a global supplier of engineering thermoplastic resins with over fifty years experience.  Here is a brief summary of how it has developed a pre-eminent market position. 

  • 1956    Bayer commence production of Novodur® ABS
  • 1972    First production of automotive dash boards in Novodur®
  • 1995    BAYER acquires Monsanto ABS business (USA/CAN/EU) as part of global strategy
  • 1996    BAYER acquires Premier Enterprise/Thailand (ABS)
  • 1997    BAYER acquires 51% of ABS Ltd. (India)
  • 1997    BAYER acquires remaining 49.5 % of Premier Enterprise/Thailand (ABS)
  • 2004    Bayer chemical activities including ABS business are spun off into a new company  -   Lanxess
  • 2006    ABS business re-named Lustran Polymers
  • 2007    Business renamed Ineos ABS after INEOS acquires a majority shareholding under a JV with Lanxess
  • 2008    INEOS ABS acquires further 32,33% of the Indian ABS business
  • 2009    INEOS acquires 100% of Ineos ABS
